High School Summer Genetics Workshop.
August 4-8, 2003. University of Washington.

Now in its fourth year, this popular workshop for high school teachers (emphasis is on genetics for introductory biology classes) features an inquiry approach. Information on the workshop, which is similar to what we plan to offer in 2003, is available at http://chroma.mbt.washington.edu/outreach/genetics/workshop. Applications for the 2003 workshop will be available in January 2003. Applications are due April. 24, 2003. Please apply early as this workshop filled quickly in 2002. All teachers receive a stipend. Clock hours or undergraduate/graduate credits are available.

Genetics for Middle School and Upper Elementary School Teachers.
Summer 2003. University of Washington.

This workshop for teachers of grades 5-8 will be presented as a one week component of a 4 week Summer Institute in Life Sciences organized by the University of Washington's Biology Program for Teachers. Teachers wishing to take the genetics component must sign up for the entire workshop, which will also include segments on organisms and environmental science.
